Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by MizB over at Should Be Reading.

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

Grab your current read. Let the book fall open to a random page.

Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

Please avoid spoilers!!

"I know you don't love me," Aldous said quickly. "Or ever would. But I'd gladly give you and the bairn my name, Kate. Will you marry me?"

    From "FNG" by Donald Bodey

Excerpt: "Jesus, Seth could be in Iraq in a week. Except I'm going to give him a million-dollar wound. I don't want him to come back like I came back from Nam."

This is an amazing novel about a grandfather who takes his grandson out "hunting", with a different purpose in mind than bagging some "game". It's an intense novel about war, family & in particular Viet Nam. Excellent.

  3. I haven't read a good historical romance in a while -- I'll have to put this on hold at the library. I'm reading a couple different things. One is a novel, Love Tag (boy, you just have to love that title, don't you?) about a family -- dad comes from not much and achieves much, and has a whole lot of ambition and pride going on. Also have an adoptive son's search for his birth parents -- the book combines the two separate tracks, so to speak. It pus a different spin on the mix of ambition, pride and revenge.

"Well, we talked. Like, it was weird, y’know? I mean, she
was a total stranger, and yet she was my, uh, mother, I guess? That’s kind of different.”"
