This is another fun read in The Know It Owl series. This time around, Owl is hanging out with tall telling beluga whale. Owl has to correct just about everything he says to the point that Owl knows Whale better than he does himself! Whale will present a "fact" that Owl quickly debunks for the truth.

Kids will love learning more about the beluga whale in this book. While it is fictional, there are some facts included. There is also a drawing activity, a "seek and find" activity and more. Kids will love the "snot fact" too!

The Know It Owl is a pretty smart bird. In this story, he knows all about axolotls and isn't afraid to share it! This book, while a work of fiction, does have some interesting facts about axolotls. There are also a couple of Spanish words and a method of measuring in the book using colored pencils. These features allow for further teaching beyond the words of the page.

I love this series and look forward to reading more!

This is a great series! Parents and grandparents alike will enjoy reading these books to and with their young ones.

This is a great book to read with kids of any age, but especially young ones and especially if you're looking to adopt a pet. Done through rhyme, this book tells of how Emmy and Oscar were born to a stray momma cat, then sent to an animal shelter, and then finding their fur-ever home with a new family.

The illustrations are also very well done and young children will enjoy seeing the playfulness of Emmy and Oscar throughout the story.

It's time for the family to go on a cruise and unfortunately, pets are not allowed. While most people might board their pets with a trusted pet sitter, Oscar and Emmy are able to go to Grandma's for the week! They are not fond of the car ride and find themselves a little scared when first arriving at Grandma's, but find that it's not so bad and they have an enjoyable week!

This is another fun read in this series of books about pets. A great way to share more stories with your littles!

I really enjoy reading this series about Oscar and Emmy!! In this book, they are going to the vet for their yearly checkups. Everything goes well and the family even learns some interesting facts about cats and dogs!

This would be a great book to read with littles before taking their furry friends to the vet for the first time. It will give them an overview of what happens at the vet and could help alleviate any anxieties they may have about their pet going to the doctor.

Family reunions can be fun, exciting, nerve wracking, trainwrecks sometimes! You just never know what's going to happen or who you might meet. Rocky is going to his first family reunion and considering he's never met his family outside of the city, he's not quite sure what to think. He's a little on the shy side but a situation comes up that he has the perfect solution to fix!

This is a super cute read that can evoke memories of your own family reunions of the past. It's a great way to tell kids about their family and how keeping in touch is important. It also encourages younger children who may not be super confident that it's ok to share a strength, even when they are unfamiliar with those they are around.

It's my favorite set of kittens coming back to help small children and their families understand more about how to deal with inclement weather. This book specifically goes over a hurricane that is close by and how they are going to handle it properly and safely. It goes over the preparation humans should take regarding their safety, as well as that of their four legged friends.

The illustrations will keep your youngsters attention even if the content is a little over their head at their age. This is a must have for any family with pets!

They ask their mom for help, and along with Oscar and Emmy, the family helps to get the kittens off to a great start. Charlie and Abby are responsible for feedings and teaching the kittens to use the litter box. Oscar and Emmy help support Peach, Pear, and Plum as they navigate the world at large.

This is a great book to read with youngsters who may be interested in having a kitten. It could help them realize the responsibilities that come with pet ownership, while also encouraging a fostering situation to begin with to make sure that the placement is a good fit for both parties. This book also briefly discusses spaying/neutering.

This is a cute book about a young man who is ready to enter a baking contest. He makes really good biscuits, but they are pretty basic and not “good enough” to win the contest. With the encouragement of his dad, who becomes his taste tester, he finds the perfect recipe for his biscuits.
This book is about practice and perseverance. It would be a great teaching tool for a young child experiencing life’s difficulties. It could be a great encouragement if read to them/with them by someone who would become their “taste tester” and cheerleader in life.

Oscar and Emmy Lose a Friend: A story about pet loss and saying goodbye to a furry friend. Ages 5-11 and kindergarten through grade 5. by Terri Sabol

This is a very emotional book but one that should be shared with all young pet owners. In this story, Shadow, who is the stray cat that keeps showing up, has stopped eating like normal. Oscar and Emmy's owners notice a lump on Shadow's belly, so they take her to the vet. The news is not good and now they must all say goodbye to Shadow.

Very gently written in a way that young children can have a better understanding of what happens when pets become too sick. I would recommend this for all pet owners, especially those of the younger generation.

This is a sweet story that is also educational. Oscar and Emmy are the house cats and they start to see a black cat come up to the door of the house they live in. Oscar and Emmy's owners start to set out food for Shadow, the new cat. The parents of the home teach their children about house pets vs feral cats and what they need to do. The children learn about Trap-Neuter-Release and then have an opportunity to continue to see Shadow after her procedure.

A great learning tool for youngsters to teach proper pet responsibility.
