This very quick-read novelette features one of the Pride and Prejudice characters that Ms. Jane Austen wrote about. Georgiana is looking for love and a house party ensues to find her a suitable partner.

This book is so short that it's hard to say much more about it without giving away any parts. I did find it a bit difficult to get into but once I did finally "get in the groove", it was almost over. It's an enjoyable read but not a favorite of mine.

There has been a lot of time and energy, as well as research, put into the writing of this book. In this practical guide, T.L. Clark shares tips that she's learned from her many years of writing. She does so with a bit of humor sprinkled throughout too!!

One of the most helpful tips that I gained from this book was the research that needs to go into the "when" aspect of a historical novel. There is an outline of different time periods that are typically written about, which includes the British set versus the timeline of the United States. I actually felt like I was reading a history novel in and of itself, which I found very enjoyable.

While I do not have aspirations to be a writer, it was nice getting a glimpse inside the brain of a writer and learning some of the groundwork that goes into the novels that I enjoy reading so much! There are so many things I had never considered that goes into the research and reading this book gave me a much better appreciation of the finished products that are published.

Set in the 15th century England, Isabel is learning the ways of being a wife as she learns that her parents have chosen her suitor. Sir William is her betrothed and they meet at the altar. Their wedding brings about much pomp and circumstance and it's obvious that the author put a lot of time researching the customs and language of the times. The rest of the book focuses on the relationship that they have with each other and those around them.

I found this to be a very enjoyable read! I appreciate the historical accuracy woven within this story. I look forward to more stories by this author!
