And Lord Stanley's Cup Goes To....

SIDNEY CROSBY AND THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS!!!!!!!!!!! I am so stoked that the Penguins won the Stanley Cup this year! Last night's Game 7 was one of those that you just sat on the edge of your seat the entire time. I'm glad I was able to watch it on TV and that I wasn't there paying hundreds of dollars just for the edge of that seat!

Maxime Talbot scored the 2 goals that led the Penguins to their Cup victory. Detroit Redwings Captain Nic Lindstrom scored the sole goal for the home team. Marc-Andre Fleury was on fire as the goals for the Pengs while Chris Osgood prevented several pucks from entering his net as well.

To top off the night, the Conn Smythe Trophy for MVP went to Evgeni Malkin. He was truly deserving of this honor!

Cool hockey fact: Sidney Crosby is the youngest captain, at age 21, to be the first to hoist the Cup for a NHL team!

Now, there's no more hockey until September....what's a girl to do in the meantime? I hope my Atlanta Thrashers do much better this next season. I'd like to see them in the play-offs for the Stanley Cup!!

The Showdown: Crosby v Lidstrom

I haven't said much about hockey this season. I'm not really sure why. My ATL Thrashers didn't do so well, but hopefully they'll have a better season next year.

We are now in the final stages of play for the Stanley Cup Finals. The next game is game 6 in Pittsburgh with the Penguins playing the Redwings from Detroit. So far, Detroit leads the series 3-2. Will Lidstrom and his Redwings continue to keep the Cup or will Crosby and his Penguins pull out a surprising win?

Personally, I'm pulling for the Penguins. If they play like they did tonight, however, we can hang it up and let the Redwings bask in the glory for yet another year. Who are you for?
