Silent Creek by Jean M. Grant

Silent CreekSilent Creek by Jean M. Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love being introduced to a new author and then the joy of wanting to continue to get to know them and their writing! This book was not a disappointment at all!

The story of Josie and Everett is told through the lens of multiple points of view and contains a little bit of everything. There is mystery, suspense, intrigue, and some romance as well. The story will have you guessing for a bit and is quite enjoyable.

Please take the time to read this book. It's hard to say much without giving things away!

#Hot and Handy (Keeney Builds #1) by Lynne Hancock Pearson

#HotAndHandy (Keeney Builds, #1)#HotAndHandy by Lynne Hancock Pearson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great read by a new-to-me author. Everyone loves a good handyman, except for the neighbor lady. Hilary has been handed a life changing cancer diagnosis and her husband decides he isn't going to tolerate all the changes in her life. That provokes Hilary to start a new life in a new town. Vincent has recently been sprung from jail and he's looking for odd jobs to keep food on the table. Hilary isn't fond of his ways but together, they form a bond that can be life changing.

This has moments of deep emotional feelings and then there are moments of levity to balance it all out. There is a bit of spice but not overwhelming. I'm looking forward to more books in this series.

Dirty Little Family Secret (Protect and Honor Series #3) by Lynn Wood

Dirty Little Family Secret (Protect and Honor Series Book 3)Dirty Little Family Secret by Lynn Wood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great series and this book did not disappoint! I love the fast paced nature of Charlie's story and how she's navigating this new phase of her life. There is mystery, intrigue, and a little bit of romance scattered throughout. It's not vital to read this series in order but I do recommend going back and reading previous books!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lauren Besoner is a court stenographer who loves her job. One day, however, changes everything when she finds the judge she works for dead. Lauren finds herself to be the main suspect, which she knows she can't be. She starts to investigate things herself and learns so much more than she could ever bargain for.

A great read that is full of suspense and mystery. You'll be on the edge of your seat until the very end and then you'll be ready to grab the next book!

Lauren the stenographer is at it again! She loves her job but her new boss, not so much. She used to love him once upon a time. It's the biggest criminal trial that the county has seen in quite some time but the person being charged with the crime doesn't seem to fit the bill in Lauren's mind. She uses her detective skills to get to the root of the issue and possibly change the whole case.

A great book that you won't want to put down until you're finished!

I believe this is my favorite book in this series! Lauren finds her neighbor dead on the ground and she fears that she may have OD'd. Everyone is against her theory but Lauren will stop at nothing to come to answers as well as solutions to the opioid epidemic plaguing their community.

Another great read that is highly recommended. Reading these books in order is not necessary but will help with the continuity of the story.

The Bookseller's Promise (The Amish Bookstore #1) by Beth Wiseman

The Bookseller's Promise (The Amish Bookstore #1)The Bookseller's Promise by Beth Wiseman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Yvonne is in Amish country to purchase a book for her client. The book is so special to the client that she's willing to pay the bookseller an absurd amount of money.

Jake promised his grandfather many years ago that he would never sell the book under any circumstances and he's committed to that promise. When Yvonne comes into town, a sense of jealousy strikes Jake's employee Eva.

Eva has had a crush on Jake for years but doesn't know that he will ever see her outside of the friend zone. She and Jake begin reading his grandfather's book together over dinner and Eva hopes that Jake will see how she really feels about him.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding this book in question and it has the potential to bring three people together in a very unlikely way. Overall, I enjoyed this book.

Starry Starry Night: A Time Travel Novel by D.K. Till

Starry Starry Night: A Time Travel Novel (Time Passengers)Starry Starry Night: A Time Travel Novel by D.K. Till
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a debut novel for this author and I am already looking forward to more reads! I do struggle with time travelling books or movies but once I get in the groove, I generally enjoy them. This one is no exception. There are a lot of fun and interesting twists and turns that no one sees coming. There are situations in which I found it surprising that the characters found themselves in. I love the different genres covered in this read. There is a bit of light romance, murder, mystery, suspense, and of course, time travel.

When Sparks Fly (A Pinegrove FD Novel Book 1) by Libby Kay

When Sparks Fly (A Pinegrove FD Novel Book 1)When Sparks Fly by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I knew this would be a great novel as I really enjoyed the Buckeye Falls series written by this author. Pinegrove Falls just sounds like a great place to live, doesn't it?

Whitney is trying to get herself together. She's recently had a humiliating break-up and things just aren't going her way. She leaves Savannah and heads for her hometown when her car starts to break up with her too.

Trevor is the fire captain at Pinegrove FD until his girlfriend leaves him for his boss. Trevor ends up getting demoted and life just isn't going well with him. Then he runs into Whitney and life starts to look up a bit.

This is a great witty romance that will have you wondering what will happen next with these two! Great start of the summer read!
