I recently posted a review on Cheryl Wyatt's latest book, The Nurse's Secret Suitor. As I was reading it, I thought I was missing something!! I sure was!! I skipped this book accidentally in between the others but thankfully found it on my bookshelf this weekend. It was yet another very quick read!!
This story features the lives of Brianna and Ian. Brianna is devastated after the loss of her mom and her brother, Caleb, being transferred into dangerous military combat. Her mom left a lodge that Brianna is about to lose to foreclosure. While out working on the lodge, Brianna slips and breaks her arm. Ian, the fabulous Eagle Point Emergency anesthesiologist, helps Brianna to the ER and gets her settled in and ready for surgery. Little does Brianna know, Ian is her "bodyguard" set up by Caleb before his departure. Not sure how she will complete all the necessary repairs to the lodge in time for the banks to extend her loan, Brianna soon finds herself surrounded by help from Eagle Point and the neighboring town, Refuge. Uncomfortable with accepting charity, Brianna strikes a deal with Ian to be his daughter Tia's babysitter. Did Brianna bite off more than she could chew?
I loved this story and how it developed. Eagle Point reminds me of my own hometown and how everyone bonds together during times of distress and tragedy. I also enjoy the medical theme throughout the book (it's the nurse in me!) and how Ms. Wyatt ties that into the military as well. I look forward to more great books in this series!
